Dave is the best Realtor I have ever had- and I've had a few being I'm on my seventh home! I would recommend Dave a thousand times over. He made the selling and buying process an enjoyable experience, especially during a time when the market has gone crazy! Full disclosure, my husband and Dave Steele worked together almost 14 years ago, so I knew Dave, and his beautiful wife, prior to asking for Dave's help when selling my condo (and purchasing a home in the Southampton County area). Dave Steele has also helped my youngest son purchase a home in Boykins in 2019. I went with my son to many house showings during that time. I was very impressed with how Dave went above and beyond to keep my son's budget in mind, as well as trying to find the perfect "house-fit" for said budget. My son was 18 when he purchased his first home and Dave was incredible explaining to my son how the purchasing process goes! A year ago, I approached Dave about selling my Suffolk condo and moving closer to my son and grand-babies, but I hadn't fully committed to the idea until December 2020. Dave kept in touch with me for that year, without being a pushy salesperson. Often we would discuss the market and what was best for my needs. Finally, in late January, we posted the condo "for sale"- it had contracts offered within hours of listing. Dave was awesome helping me through the process of the sale. And when it came time for me to move, Dave went beyond a realtor-role, and helped me move everything into storage-he knew the move was going to strain my budget with professional movers, so he was there along with several friends and my family helping me move!! He even tried to find me storage in Southampton because I wasn't familiar with that area even though I planned to move there. If ever I had a question, Dave became my "go-to" person. . The market being so volatile with lack of purchase inventory and purchases above asking became my nightmare as I watched the interest rates climb these past months. Dave was always calming my worries and mentally setting me straight when my frustrations got the better of me- I could not have asked for a more insightful, thoughtful, and dedicated Realtor! Once I found "the one"- Dave again went above and beyond to make the contract protect my interests while still being competitive with any one else putting an offer in. This home was the one! Dave told me to have patience and he was right! This home is perfect for my needs- This house is the one I had been wanting; it checks off all my boxes- (and, yes, I'm as picky as they come when purchasing one's home- I want champagne taste on a beer budget -was what my husband would always say!) the minor issues of the house, Dave helped me figure out those things as well- he even helped fixed some of those issues once I had closed on the house! And the day after closing, Dave and his wife and family came with thoughtful gifts : a flag pole, keyless entry locks, and pizzas, chips and drinks for everyone helping me move that day, once again, including Dave. My house didn't come with a mailbox, just a 4x4 post, and Dave installed my box while I was in transit from the storage unit to the new house. I know you're thinking Dave did all this because he knew and worked with my husband, Detective Michael S Phillips (killed in the line of duty August 7, 2008); that Dave must have been going above and beyond because I'm a widow of a fellow law enforcement officer. That is not the case at all!! I truly believe Dave would have done all this for any client whom he saw needed help. Dave is a dedicated Realtor- and I am blessed to call him and his family my friends- but as far as a Realtor, Dave has been my angel - Heaven sent to help me find my forever home! He deserves every recognition for all he has done for me.
