One of the best parts of being a homeowner is designing spaces that celebrate the things you love. If you’re an avid reader, creating a home library is a great way to showcase your favorite books and start collecting those titles you’ve been wanting to read. Whether you have room fit for an entire built-in or just a small nook, there are plenty of design options.
Houzz recently shared an article about home libraries called, “Designer’s Touch: 10 Luxurious Libraries” and we couldn’t resist sharing a few of the best.
This first home library takes advantage of super high ceilings to showcase favorite novels from floor to ceiling. In this room the deep purple, tufted furniture and the black and white graphic rug give this library a very rich feeling.
When decorating, you may not consider a hallway as a place for anything other than family portraits or art work, but if your hallway is wide enough, you can use that space as a home for you most beloved books.
The space beneath a stairwell is often used for house plants, decorative vases or simply as storage. What if you turned that space into your own private (and somewhat hidden) reading room? This is a very clever use of a non-traditionally shaped space.
Though it’s hard to image feeling you have enough closet space to use one for something other than clothes, linens or storage, if you find yourself so lucky, take the door of the closet and turn it into an intimate book nook, complete with plush seating and great light for reading.
What do you think of these luxurious libraries?
