Ranch Style

Ranch style is an architectural design trend that began in the United States in the early 1920s. It became much more popular around the 1950s and remains popular today. The style is characterized by homes that are built near to the ground. They are usually built out instead of up as most of these homes are single story. Many will have a garage attached and they feature large windows. On both the inside and outside, these homes feature a minimalist design. The decor is understated as the home speaks for itself. Most people who own these homes prefer an open floor plan with lots of natural light and enough space to enjoy quiet living. These homes have been popular for people in rural areas and the plains region of the United States. Some two-story versions of these homes have popped up; however, they are somewhat rare.
