Ff&E

FF&E is an acronym used in real estate contracts that stands for furniture, fixtures and equipment. Sometimes, when a grantor is selling a home to the grantee or buyer, the seller can agree to include certain items with the home. An example of this would be kitchen appliances. The seller might include the refrigerator or oven and any other large appliances that would be too difficult to move to a new location with the home. The real estate contract will often state the condition of any FF&E in the home at the time of the sale. These items are included in the value of the home and will have a tax consequence for both the seller and the buyer. The seller will often include an itemized list of all furniture, fixtures and equipment that are included in the asking price of the home or business.
